A pair who subjected a man they didn't know to "a particularly nasty and sustained attack", stole his shoes, and filmed him on the ground while laughing have been jailed.
Mark Christopher James Goodchild (36) and Addison Thomas Mazurke (29) were both found guilty of grave and criminal assault following a trial in October.
During a three-day trial the jury of eight women and four men heard that the pair had chased him along Bath Street and King Street and punched him, kicked him and pushed him to the ground. They then filmed him on a mobile phone before removing his trainers.
A forensic medical examiner said fractures to the victim's collarbone were similar to those that would be sustained in a car crash. He also suffered bruises and swelling to his head and body, cuts and grazes to his elbows, shoulder blade and back, and required required stitches inside his ear.

Mazurke had pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of common assault but Goodchild denied he had been involved. However, after two hours of discussion the jury unanimously found them both guilty of all charges.
They were sentenced in the Royal Court today.
Mazurke received a sentence of four years' imprisonment for grave and criminal assault, three months for larceny, and two weeks for possession of cannabis, all to run concurrently.
Goodchild received a four-year custodial sentence for grave and criminal assault, three months for larceny, two months for beach of the peace, and two months for beaching probation and community service orders, all to be served concurrently.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable Caroline Foord said after the sentencing: “The violent and confrontation behaviour of Mazurke and Goodchild was particularly disturbing, as they found an opportunity to single out an unknown individual, leaving them injured and unconscious on the ground.
“The victim showed a great level of courage to report this matter to Police to ensure appropriate action could be taken. We hope that today’s outcome will help provide the victim with reassurance that we will do everything possible to see offenders such as these being brought to justice.”
