Ping pong spring sprung!

A town pub and barbecue restaurant is having to undergo an unexpected revamp after it discovered a major leak when it was pulling up old floorboards.

In a Facebook post, JB’s in Wharf Street – which is renowned for its table tennis tables - says they were pulling up an old and bendy floor when they noticed a big problem.

There was a big leak: "...it’s a mess and so we are left with no option other than to tear down the entire bar, backbar, floor etc. Find the leak, fix it and rebuild.”

The company say it couldn’t have come at a worse time with the TennerFest on the horizon and the run up to Christmas. But, there is an upside: “If there’s some good news to share... we’ll have a brand spanking new bar and beautiful floor for you all to enjoy as fast as we possibly can. Hang tight, sorry you can’t drink anything decent for a few more days, but we’re on the case!”
