Direct flights from Jersey to Lanzarote are set to 'take off' this winter.
FlyDirect said that it had decided to launch the new route to the smaller Canary Island after a successful series of flights to Tenerife over the past year.
The flights, which will take just under four hours, are due to operate on a Friday with departures to Arrecife airport departing weekly from the 25 October to the 22 November, returning 29 November.
Rebecca Larsson, Marketing and Development Manager of FlyDirect's parent company C. I. Travel Group, said: "We have enjoyed another successful series of flights to Tenerife this year and are delighted to not only repeat the programme, but also add an exciting new destination for October half-term and November sunshine getaways."
Ports of Jersey CEO Matt Thomas said the new route to Lanzarote was "great news" for islanders and would increase Jersey Airport's total of European destinations in 2024 to sixteen.
The flight programme will be operated by FlyDirect's partner airline, Smartwings, using their modern 737-800 aircraft.
Flights go on sale early this week and customers will be able to book online or over the phone.
