Jersey Hospice Care is inviting islanders to buy a ceramic flower to remember their loved ones.
The campaign, 'Planted with Love to Remember a Loved One', aims to raise funds for the Jersey Hospice.
Jersey Hospice Care needs £5.3 million each year to run its free services for people with life limiting conditions.
The flowers are produced by Johnson Tiles in England who manufactured many of the Poppies for the Tower of London display.
Explaining the campaign, Chairman of Fundraising, Steven Hunt said: "We are inviting islanders to remember their loved ones by buying one of our high quality, glazed yellow ceramic flowers. They will initially be planted in the gardens at Jersey Hospice Care, creating a dazzling yellow display for everyone to enjoy, from 10 August, to coincide with the Battle of Flowers.
"On 8 October, the Vicar of St Andrew’s Church, Mark Barrett, will hold a 'Remembering with Love' service, which purchasers of the flowers can attend. Shortly after the service, purchasers will be able to collect a flower and its stem, which they can place in their garden or even inside their home as a keepsake."
The flowers went on sale this week and can be purchased online here, where you can also leave a dedication, or, alternatively you can pick up a 'Planted with Love' leaflet from various outlets, including Jersey Hospice's charity shops. Each ceramic flower will cost a minimum donation of £30. The Jersey Hospice hopes to sell 1,000 flowers to fill the borders of their gardens at Mont Cochon, so that patients and visitors can enjoy them before the flowers are collected.
