Thursday 13 April 2017

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses who may have information on an alleged assault that took place in the Town Centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The assault is believed to have happened around Liberation Square between 02:50 and 03:05.

At around 03:05 on Sunday, police found a man wearing a black t-shirt with a large white logo on the back outside the Seafish Café at Liberation Square with facial injuries. It is believed that these injuries were the result of an assault, however the man was unsure where this assault had taken place and he was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

Anyone who may have witnessed any incident in town at that time, involving a male fitting that description, is asked to call police on 612612 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
