Police issue info appeal after man assaulted by 7 teenagers

Friday 04 June 2021

A man in his 30's had to be treated in hospital after Police say he was assaulted by a group of teenagers who stole his phone, wallet and cigarettes.

They believe the group was made up of five girls and two boys, and have now arrested five females and one male, all who were between 13 and 19, and have been released on bail.

They are now appealing for more information in order to identify the one other male from the group, who is described as wearing a black top and black trousers or jogging bottoms.

Police say it took place at 23:10 on Bank Holiday Monday (31 May) on Elizabeth Place, across from Parade Gardens in St Helier.

They believe the man had left the Old England Pub in Cheapside and was walking towards Rouge Bouillon along Elizabeth Place when the group ran after him and assaulted him, leaving him with minor injuries which needed to be treated at A&E.

Anyone who was in the Old England Pub near to 23:00 that night or who may have seen the incident happen on Elizabeth Place is asked to contact Police on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form at Crimestoppers-uk.org
