Police have released video footage of a thief breaking into a shop and stealing alcohol, cigarettes and lottery tickets.

Officers have released the footage of the theft – which happened in the early hours of Thursday 26 February – in an effort to identify the thief.

The footage is mostly dark, but at two points the man’s face is clearly visible.

The break-in happened at Costcutters in St John’s Village between 2 am and 2.30 am on Thursday 26 February.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police either on 612616 or on the anonymous Crimestoppers number on 0800 555111.

The police appeal for information said: “Police are looking to speak to a man in relation to a break and entry at the Costcutter in St John which took place in the early hours of February 26th between 02:00 and 02:30.

“The glass on the door to the property was broken and entry was gained to the premises whereby the shop was disturbed and cigarettes, lottery tickets and alcohol were taken.

“The man we are looking to speak to was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a black hooded jacket.”
