How would you decorate Police HQ?

Police are in hot pursuit of primary school children with a creative streak to help create an arresting wall decoration at their headquarters.

The call for kids to use their artistic skills as a force for good is part of a new competition launched today.

During the summer holidays, pupils moving into years two to six in September, have been asked to create a design including images of the Police at work by using a template of the parish in which they live or go to school.

All winning entries from each parish will be arranged to form one large Jersey map, which will live at Police HQ.

Police hope that the 'Policing in my Parish' contest will provide an opportunity for local children to think about the role the Force plays in island life.

They will be holding a special unveiling event on 20 November, which winners will be invited to attend.

Acting Deputy Chief Officer, James Wileman, commented: “I hope that the fantastic children of Jersey will take this opportunity to leave their mark on Police Headquarters."
