Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal will be visiting Jersey next month, it has been confirmed.
The Bailiff announced in the States Assembly today that Princess Anne, the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, will be visiting the island on 13 July.
During her visit, the Princess Royal is scheduled to officially unveil the King's Arch at Government House, will visit Durrell's Tortoise Takeover Trail and will be present at the official opening of the new Aldabran Tortoise House at Jersey Zoo.
Princess Anne has been a patron of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust since 1972, and in 2019 she officially opened the butterfly and tortoise house.
The Princess Royal last visited Jersey in June 2021, when she unveiled the new Les Quennevais School and attended a service in St. Saviour's Parish Church to commemorate the lives of veterans from the Peninsular War and Battle of Waterloo.
