Cineworld will no longer be able to open as planned next week due to government restrictions.
The cinema offered its "sincere apologies" as it announced the news in a Facebook post this afternoon.
"Unfortunately, due to new government restrictions which have been introduced in Jersey, Cineworld will no longer be able to re-open there on August 26th as planned - as it is not viable for us to operate.
"We apologise for the inconvenience but look forward to re-opening the cinema for our valued customers when restrictions are eased," a spokesperson said.
They added: "All customers who have pre-booked tickets for screenings will receive a full refund automatically.
"Unlimited members you will not be charged for your Unlimited membership until Cineworld Jersey re-opens, at which point we will first credit you for any payments made during our closure period, and then you will be charged your new reduced monthly fee of £16.10. Annual members will have their expiry date extended so please ignore the original date. Your free 2D adult Cineworld ticket will still be valid."
