Jersey Post is releasing a special set of stamps to mark the 70th - Platinum Wedding Anniversary - of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Philip.
The Royal wedding took place at Westminster Abbey on 20 November 1947 but the pair first met in 1934, at the wedding of Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark and Prince George, Duke of Kent.
Melanie Gouzinis, Head of Philatelic at Jersey Post said, “The Queen and Prince Philip have approached their royal duties with dedication, devotion and, where appropriate, humour enabling them to rely on each other and enjoy seventy years of marriage together. This stamp issue honours them by focusing on important milestones in their lives together.”
