The Christmas season has officially begun and St Helier is now twinkling with lights after a visit from Santa last night.
The man in red was joined by a bunch of festive characters and an express train full of children as he travelled through St Helier switching on the Christmas lights to the sounds of the St Helier Scout Band.
Meanwhile for the first time a lantern parade set off from Howard Davis Park through Colomberie lighting up that part of town with the cast of this year's pantomime ‘Dick Wittington’ before meeting up with Santa in the Royal Square for the big switch on.
The parade finished at the Weighbridge.
