The Jersey Sea Cadet Corps is calling on former cadets and volunteers to join its 75th anniversary celebrations at a reception on the lawns of Government House.
Founded in 1949, the unit was initially named T.S. Undaunted and accepted boys from the ages of 12 to 18.
In 1962, the Royal Marine Cadet Detachment was created and later, in 1986, a Girls Nautical Training Corps was formed which went on to be fully integrated into the organisation.

In 1993, after the de-commissioning of its affiliated ship, HMS Jersey, permission was given to change the unit's name and it now wears the T.S. Jersey cap tally.
A Junior Cadet section was also formed in the mid-1990s, with islanders aged 10 to 12 being able to join.
The unit is now the largest in the British Isles and Commonwealth with 160 cadets supported by around 60 adult volunteers.
To mark the 75th anniversary, Lieutenant-Governor Vice-Admiral Jerry Kyd has given the Sea Cadets permission to hold a celebratory reception on the lawns of Government House on Saturday 15 June.
The Jersey Sea Cadet's Commanding Officer, Lt (SCC) David Thompson, is extending the invitation to past volunteers and cadets to join the celebrations.
