Local actors have taken rehearsals online in a bid to continue their planned productions for 2020.
The Jersey Amateur Dramatic Club (JADC) had to postpone their productions of Noises Off and Evita, which were originally scheduled for April and July.
The club “remain determined”, however, that all of their hard work and planning will not be “in vain”.
This week, the cast of Noises Off begin regular virtual rehearsals to ensure they are stage-ready for when new show dates are announced.

Director, Maurice Dubras, said: “Everyone was so enthusiastic about the idea as we’ve all been missing the rehearsal process. Zoom has provided us a way to stay together, apart.”
“We want to be ready to bring laughter back to people’s lives,” he added.
Live theatre was one of the first industries hit by coronavirus closures. Having already spent several weeks in rehearsals, the Noises Off cast were naturally “disappointed” when rehearsals were called off.

“We took the decision early on, as we just didn’t feel it was fair to carry on rehearsing, putting the health of our wonderful cast and production crew and their family members at risk,” Maurice said.
The cast is eagerly awaiting news about when physical rehearsals can resume, and are looking forward to performing once again for their island audiences.
