Staff struggles hit Condor Voyager

A number of Condor Voyager's sailings this week have been rescheduled due to a shortage of cabin crew.

Changes have been made to the timetable of sailings because of a staff crisis.

“A shortage of cabin crew requires us to coordinate more crew changes than we would like and unfortunately, this weekend it is not possible to secure our normal changeovers,” said a spokesperson for Condor.

“The high speed sailings affected are between Saint Malo, Jersey, Guernsey and Poole until the end of the week.”

The operator says that passengers are being transferred to amended times on the same day as their original departure in order to avoid cancellations.

Passengers are asked to only contact Customer Support if unhappy or unable to make those rescheduled sailings.

The spokesperson added: “We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused but these changes will ensure everyone reaches their destination on the day they have booked.

“Covid has had a significant impact on travel and tourism in general over the past 18 months and we are working hard to maintain reliable services with reduced crew levels.”

got nothing to do with Covid, this would have happened but Jersey being the global leader of everything, didn't expect so many people leaving to go back home, or better places to migrate to work, where they may have a lifestyle, rather than just existing to pay the rent over here. Good ol' days are truely gone. Soon kiiosk will be run like the pathetic self service checkouts (which people shouldn't use) in the supermarkets. Make your own coffee for a £5'er by time next year comes around. Still fly to England and pick up jersey milk, potatoes, ice cream, cream etc....for a damn sight cheaper than down the road, and they are the good potatoes (jersey pearls), not the huge jacket style ones they leave for us to buy at double the price. Lovely beaches around out coast though

It's not just this week that Condor have been changing sailing times. We had looked at the Condor online booking system for the 1st October from Jersey to St Malo along with two friends in their motorhomes. The sailing times were either 9.00am or 7.00pm and so we were opting for the 9.00am sailing allowing us to be able to get to La Rochelle for late afternoon. One of my friends was booking over the phone to Condor and was told that there was no sailing to St Malo at 9.00am that day and yet my other friend who was standing alongside him had already booked on it and had confirmation. He has just been told today by text message that his sailing has been changed to the evening, perhaps if Condor paid their staff decent wages then they might be able to recruit more staff, they certainly charge enough for their fares. Covid is becoming the continual excuse for just about everything.
