Still time to have your say on rating Jersey's politicians

Friday 12 February 2016

An easy online poll has been launched to rate Jersey’s politicians and you've still got a couple of days to click and have your say.

Independent campaign group change.je has launched the online survey – asking key questions about individual ministers and politicians, and whether Islanders think that things are going in the right direction.

The survey takes just a few minutes, and you can click on it here.

The organisers say that they have already had a strong response with hundreds taking part, and they want to encourage as many people as possible to have their say before the survey closes at the end of the weekend.

Christian May from change.je said: "The change.je project was set up to encourage Islanders to engage with the Jersey political system and to vote at election time.

"A focus of our work in 2016 will be to better understand public attitudes to our politicians and their policies.

"To do this we need accurate, independent polling data. Political polls have been noticeable by their absence in Jersey; we intend to change that. We want to conduct regular tracking polls, online and over the telephone, to get an accurate and unbiased picture of the Island’s political landscape."

The questions include rating individual politicians, collective views on the States and the Council of Ministers, political priorities, voting intentions, and where people get their information about politics from.
