Police investigating sexual assaults from 1995 have arrested a man who is being flown back from London to face charges in Jersey this morning.

Andrew Hannam (44) is on a flight from London, and is due to be charged in court today.

He was arrested this morning and is due to be charged with one count of attempted rape, one count of gross indecency and four counts of indecent assault on a female.

The charges relate to a sexual assault that was committed in St Helier in February 1995.

The arrests are part of a “cold case” investigation that police have been undertaking in liaison with the Law Officer’s department.
