Teen arrested after alleged attack left man in 60s with "serious" head injury

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing a man in his 60s a serious head injury following a fight in the street.

Police said the reported physical fight took place around 17:00 Albert Street in St. Helier yesterday (Sunday 5 March).

Appealing for information, officers said: "At approximately 17:00 two men were involved in a physical argument close to the junction with Clearview Street, during which a 62-year-old man sustained a serious head injury and is currently in hospital undergoing treatment."

A 17-year-old boy was later arrested on suspicion of committing a grave and criminal assault. Police said he remains in police custody.
