Teen flown to Southampton after late-night stabbing

Monday 10 January 2022

Police are on the hunt for witnesses after a teenage boy was stabbed, leaving him in need of emergency treatment in Southampton.

The 18-year-old was found in the parking area to the rear of the Unifare shop on Le Geyt Road around 23:00 on Sunday.

He was still conscious and able to speak, and immediately taken to hospital, before being transferred to Southampton for further treatment.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, and ask for anyone who saw anything suspicious between 20:00 and 23:00 to get in touch. They are also calling for help from those who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage.

Police said they believe the incident to be an “isolated” one, but added that they will be “patrolling the area over the coming days” to offer “reassurance to the community.”

Anyone with more information is urged to call Police on 612612, selecting option two. Anonymous reports can also be made via Crimestoppers’ online form.
