Monday 17 February 2020

The identity of a teenager who died from suspected MDMA use this weekend has been confirmed.

James Le Bourgeois passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning in St. Lawrence, sparking a large-scale Police probe that has so far resulted in the arrests of seven people.

The police revealed James' identity just before 12:00 today, along with a photograph of the teen provided by his family.

"Our heartfelt thoughts go out to them at this sad time," a spokesperson for the force added.

In total, seven people have so far been arrested and cash and drugs seized from a number of properties as part of the "fast-moving" investigation into James's death.

One of them, 20-year-old Rorey Allo was arrested just before midnight on Saturday night. He has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, though the alleged offence is not understood to be directly related to the 19-year-old's death.

Mr Allo was due to appear in the Magistrate's Court this morning.

Three other males were sent to hospital on Saturday believed to be suffering the effects of the Class A drug, and later discharged.
