A fundraising page set up for a 37-year-old woman who was found dead on a Jersey beach earlier this year has smashed its target of £5,000 to support her family with funeral costs.
Zsuzsanna Besenyei, described by one anonymous donor as a “caring, kind lady”, was found at Le Pulec on 16 May after being reported missing for several days.
54-year-old Jamie Lee Warn has been charged with her murder and perverting the course of justice.

Islanders and friends donated just under £2,500, an amount which was supplemented by her employer, Computershare, to reach the target of £5,000.
The money will go towards supporting her family, who are now in the island, in arranging a cremation and then repatriating Zsuzsanna's ashes to Hungary.
A memorial event will be held this evening in Zsuzsanna's honour at St. Thomas’s Hall where a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses, will be held to raise further funds for her family.

Writing on the fundraising page, which raised over £1,000 in less than a week, a friend expressed their gratitude for the donations received: “I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the family to say a big thank you for your generosity and kindness.”
They continued: "It is a very difficult time for the Besenyei family. We appreciate any donations that you are able to give and we are very thankful for your support."
According to Police, despite not having family in Jersey, Zsuzsanna had been in the island for the past seven or eight years.

As well as donations, tributes poured in for the Hungarian national, with one donor writing “We all miss seeing you lovely smiley face so much. You were always so thoughtful and kind to our family and we will never forget you. God bless.”
Another post reads: “Such a kind, caring lady. I was shocked to learn that this had happened. My thoughts are with her friends and family.”
The memorial event will be held this evening at St. Thomas’s Hall, Val Plaisant between 18:00-20:00.
