The States have had a £3,000 rethink and binned their old recycling logo.
The Department for Infrastructure have replaced ‘Recycle for Jersey' with ‘Rethink your waste’ to encompass waste reduction and reuse and not just recycling.
The Recycle for Jersey logo was established more than a decade ago to raise awareness about recycling and help Islanders make a choice between the rubbish and recycling bin.
DFI Minister Eddie Noel said: "The new identity ’rethink your waste’ invites everyone to think about the waste they generate and how they can manage it better. The Recycle for Jersey brand no longer reflects the Department’s focus to reduce, reuse and recycle."
The Department has released the new identity now so that it can be incorporated in the opening of the new Household Reuse and Recycling Centre in January 2017.
The cost of developing ‘rethink your waste’ in all the necessary formats has been approximately £3,000 and DfI say they'll be keeping future costs to a minimum as signage, vehicles and uniforms will only be changed at the end of their normal end of life, as happened in the transition from TTS to DfI.
