Amongst the 37 runners in tomorrow’s Ladies' Day event at Les Landes racecourse is renowned jockey Tom Scudamore, son of MBE and champion jockey Peter Scudamore.
Having turned professional at the age of 20, Tom Scudamore is the third generation of Grand National jockeys in his family, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.
He has competed in the event 12 times since 2001, and although he’s never won it, he has claimed multiple victories at the Cheltenham festival.
He will be joining riders at this weekend’s Jersey Race Club Ladies' Day event, competing in all five races on horses trained by Neil Mulholland.
The majority of the jockeys racing this weekend are visitors rather than Jersey residents. Some have become regulars at the Les Landes course, such as Mattie Batchelor, and now the addition of frenchman Davy Delalande, is giving the jersey jockeying community an international aspect.
Great to see 2014 @jerseyraceclub Champion Trainer @Neil_Mulholland and @tommyscu in Jersey on Sunday for what looks sure to be a fiercely competitive card - it’s sure to be an exciting day down Les Landes!

Tomorrow's Ladies' Day is the penultimate race day of the season, but will also be the most glamourous; there will be prizes on offer for ‘best dressed,' and ‘most outstanding hat.'

The first of the 5 races begins at 14:30, with the gates opening at midday, and the last race is scheduled for 16:50. The finalists in all categories of the 'best dressed' competitions will be invited to join the judges in the winners' enclosure at 17:25, where the prize-giving will take place.
