The trial of an 85-year-old retired farmer accused of sexually abusing a teenage boy has been adjourned until tomorrow.
Bryan John Le Brocq is charged with eight counts of sexual assault on the alleged victim, who was 13 when it is claimed the abuse started. He denies all the charges.
The Royal Court today heard Commissioner Julian Clyde-Smith tell the jury that the case against Mr Le Brocq will re-start tomorrow morning.
He told the jury: “The position is that I have granted the prosecution leave to amend the end dates of counts one, two and three. These stated the period 1999 to May 2000. The amendment is to the latter date which now reads 20th May, 2002.
“In fairness to the defence, having granted that application, I am giving them a short adjournment today to consider that application."
