Tune in to this summer for new record

Saturday 25 June 2016

A local charity needs your help recording the sounds of Summer 2016.

The National Trust for Jersey is working with Jersey Archive and Audioboom Ltd to create the Island's first 'sound map' of the coast and want to hear anything from the sounds of waves crashing to the cry of gulls or families playing on the beach.

They want you to record any sounds of the coast you hear on the free Audioboom app on smartphones or tablets or on handheld recorders and they want you to upload your recordings via Audioboom, with the tag #lovejerseyscoast and a picture of where you picked up the sounds.

It's all being launched this weekend at the Sunset Concerts at Grantez in St Ouen and will run until the end of the year to mark the 10th anniversary of the Trust's Coastline campaign.

At the end of the year all the recorded 'sounds' will be kept at Jersey Archive as a permanent audio record of the summer of 2016.
