Oops! Underpass closed after lorry strikes top of tunnel

Both westbound lanes of the underpass were closed this morning after a lorry carrying two large plastic tanks struck the top of one of the tunnels.

Traffic was diverted over the top while the lorry and debris were removed.

The underpass has a maximum height of 15ft, 3ins.

The lorry made it through the first tunnel but struck the top of the second as it began to climb out.

No oops, with Jersey very much addicted to signage around our roads, some is ridiculous, there should be a height sign as you enter the underpass (probably a legal requirement and widespread in the UK). Better get one up soonish. Can we have it in Neon, brighten up that grey concrete dull looking part.

Need a height sign in every language with flashing lights! Who doesn't check their load height, first thing you do with a high load!
