Oops! Underpass closed after lorry strikes top of tunnel

Both westbound lanes of the underpass were closed this morning after a lorry carrying two large plastic tanks struck the top of one of the tunnels.

Traffic was diverted over the top while the lorry and debris were removed.

The underpass has a maximum height of 15ft, 3ins.

The lorry made it through the first tunnel but struck the top of the second as it began to climb out.

Pictured: Police and DVS vehicles closed the westbound lanes of the underpass. 

It is understood that no one was injured in the accident.
