Police are hunting for witnesses after a man was knocked out by a stranger in an unprovoked attack in the Royal Square early on Saturday morning.

The 26-year-old man was walking through the Royal Square just after midnight, and was just by the Pierson Pub when he was attacked.

He was wearing jeans and a dark green coat at the time, and was with a witness.
