The investigation into the death of 16-year-old Morgan Huelin remains a live inquiry with around 24 officers still on the case, despite the release on bail of five teens arrested on suspicion of his murder, according to police.
The Post Mortem exam conducted by a Home Office pathologist has now been completed, and investigators are awaiting the results, which could take some time.
The States of Jersey Police have also confirmed that no bail conditions have been attached to the five teens who have been released after being arrested and questioned on suspicion of murder on Sunday and Monday.
That means none of the five – four of whom are 16, and one of whom is 15 – have had to surrender their passports or report to police regularly while on bail.
They have to report back to the police on 10 August.
Three teens were arrested on suspicion of murder at a house not far from where Morgan’s body was found on a quiet road in Trinity, at 9.45 am on Sunday. Two more suspects were arrested as the investigation progressed during the day, and all five were released between 5 pm and 6.30 pm by the police on Monday.
The police have confirmed that “Operation Emerald” is still progressing with a full team of officers on the case, and have reiterated their request that anyone with any information get in touch with them.
