Update: Police looking for driver who spoke to missing Adrian

Police are trying to trace a driver who spoke to missing Adrian Lynch on the night he vanished just over a week ago.

They are trying to find the driver – who was seen speaking to the 20-year-old – around the Six Roads junction at Carrefour Selous at around 12.20 am last Saturday morning, just after he was dropped off in a taxi.

There have been confirmed sightings of Adrian after that point, so investigators do not think he was the last person to speak to him – but they’re keen to find out anything that Adrian said about where he was going.

No description of the car or driver has been issued.

The search for Adrian is now in its ninth day, and police have been used sonar equipment borrowed from Humberside Police to check deep water reservoirs and ponds for any sign of the missing man over the weekend.

Investigators are working on the theory that Adrian was suffering from hypothermia and was disoriented – they say that at this point in the search, it’s unlikely that he will be found alive.

The police search team have again appealed to anyone living in the St Lawrence, Trinity or St John area to search their property and any outbuildings for any sign of missing man.

They have specifically asked residents to check sheds, boats and trailers, in case Adrian tried to seek shelter from the cold and got trapped.
