Islanders have stepped up to guard an injured seal recovering at the harbour after two men were spotted throwing rocks at her and chasing her down the slipway.
British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) Jersey this afternoon reiterated their plea to islanders to give a seal the "space she needs to recover" from the wound caused by fishing gear getting wrapped around her neck.
The marine mammal medics explained that the seal was "doing really well with her recovery" until she was disturbed.
BDMLR Jersey added that the alleged offences was caught on camera and is being follow up by police and the Environment Law Enforcement Department.
They also asked islanders to keep the seal's precise location off social media to avoid people disturbing her.
They added: "If you walk your dog in the area of the harbour please be mindful that they may pick up her scent and bolt towards her.
"Please keep dogs on a lead and away.
"Barking dogs will also make her bolt for the sea."
