An islander marking four years since her breast cancer diagnosis and her two “crazy, kind friends” have raised more than £16,000 for a local charity after braving the shave yesterday.
Aimee Sinclair-Horgan, Sarah Burns and Steph Melton were cheered on as they went under the clippers on Saturday in Prince’s Bar.
Their aim was to raise as much money as possible for After Breast Cancer (ABC), which provides emotional, practical, and financial support to islanders affected by the disease and their families.

Aimee was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 and last year decided that she wanted to do something to give back to ABC.
When she mentioned the idea to her friends, they were only too happy to support, and the trio named their fundraising attempt ‘Three heads are better than one!’
Originally, the trio were aiming for a target of £3,000 – but have since gone on to generate more than five times that target.

At the time of writing, the fundraiser has secured donations from nearly 250 supporters totalling more than £16,000 and funds continue to pour in.
For Sarah, who runs Prince’s Bar, this won’t be the end of the fundraising journey, however, with ABC the pub’s chosen charity for the year.
