A local garden centre has been flooded with job applications from India after a Tamil video about securing work in Jersey became an online hit, racking up more than 235,000 views.
Posted last month on job-seeking advice channel 'Foreign Job 195', the video takes viewers on a tour around sights like Greve De Lecq and the Esplanade, as it outlines how to apply for a visa and get work on the island.

It also features an appearance from both Gov.je and the Ransoms Garden Centre website - the vacancy page of which was used as an example of the job application process.
A Ransoms spokesperson told Express: "It was quite the surprise seeing this but it explained why we had been receiving so many applications from India recently.
"We had been scratching our heads over where on the web they came from.
"We checked our website’s analytics and figured they were searching directly for Ransoms.je, which was even more mystifying and we speculated they could be sharing the information about job opportunities abroad on forums within India. Seeing the Youtube video, that mystery is now solved."

They added: "Even though this one is publicly on YouTube, we just hope no one is paying for this type of misleading information as part of a job hunting service within India, as they seem to be getting some facts wrong."
The Government, however, said their web team hadn't noticed a significant change in the number of referrals to their site from YouTube since the video went live on 7 January.
447 users moved from YouTube to the Gov.je site between 10 January and 8 February, compared to 195 users between 11 December and 9 January.
It's not the first time India and Jersey have brushed shoulders this year.
Last month, a controversial exam on cows was launched, featuring a section detailing how Jersey cows were "lazy" and "unhygienic" - it was later removed following backlash from the country's press and public.
