A 61-year-old woman was left feeling “vulnerable, scared and intimidated” after a teenage boy reportedly mocked her disability and swore at her over the weekend.

Police said the mobility scooter user was “verbally abused” by the boy on the Havre des Pas promenade near the Fort D’Auvergne Hotel as the she headed towards Mount Bingham between 17:30 and 18:00 on Saturday.

The boy was then reported to have run off along with a group of up to seven youths, and thought to have boarded the bus around the corner.

He was described as being “white, aged 14 to 16 years old, about 5ft 2, slim, dark hair in a wedge style, [and] wearing a light greyish/green top and a light coloured jacket which was folded over his arm.”
