A teenager has been arrested after a supermarket worker was allegedly attacked and racially abused by a group of young people.

Police were called to the Colomberie Co-op at 19:00 yesterday evening (Wednesday 2 September).

According to a Police spokesperson, by the time officers arrived, "the accused had left the premises."

They added: "The accused were seen shortly after in the surrounding area and a juvenile male was subsequently arrested on suspicion of common assault and disorderly conduct on licenced premises."

The young man has since been released on Police bail while investigations continue.
