A bingo fundraiser is being held tonight at Saumarez Park Café to celebrate what would have been Aggie Nicolle’s upcoming 16th birthday on 23 July.
Aggie passed away in February 2016 after a courageous 20-month battle with neuroblastoma.
The Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation provided vital support for Aggie’s family while she was treated at Southampton Hospital.
Now, the Nicolle family want to help the charity with ongoing fundraising events in Aggie’s memory.
Tonight’s fun will include several rounds of bingo and a raffle, with the goal of raising at least £1,080— the amount needed to cover 18 nights at £60 each through the PPBF’s Buy-A-Night campaign to stay at one of the flats near the hospital.
Emma Nicolle, Aggie’s mother said they’re hoping to see some of her school friends there tonight.
“As many of Aggie’s old classmates have been working hard for their GSCEs and have turned or will be turning 16 later this year, Hubert and I have been particularly aware of how much we miss Aggie and how her life would have changed since we lost her nearly 10 years ago.
“It seemed a really good opportunity to focus those thoughts on raising further funds for the PPBF and, in particular, Aggie’s Burrow, to ensure that as many families as possible can benefit from this great resource when away from home. We have had an amazing response to the event and thank everyone for their continued support and generosity.”
