Neil MacDonald and Jack Falla were both sentenced to 18 months imprisonment last summer. The pair had admitted acquiring and selling 150g of cannabis resin, while Macdonald was also sentenced for the possession of two double-barrelled shotguns and shells which he didn’t have certificates for.
Both men have already served their time in prison, but are now facing a fine from the court, which has confiscated profits made through the sale of the Class B drug.
They have been ordered to pay a joint sum of £3750 – the amount the drugs were thought to be worth – over the next 56 days.
Although Falla was confident he could pay his half now, MacDonald raised concerns saying he had no cash but might be able to pay the fine with assets.
If the full amount is not paid within the next 56 days, both men could be sent back to prison for another eight weeks.
