Among the organisations which funded the refurbishment programme was the Sarah Groves Foundation which gave £50,000 towards the overall cost which reached £156,000.
The charity said its mission statement is ‘Enhancing Young Lives’ and that it is “proud to be associated with this project because it will enhance many young lives for many years to come.”
The Foundation was set up in memory of young Guernseywoman Sarah Groves who had volunteered her time to work with children before her death.

The refurbished library will be officially opened by The Bailiff, Sir Richard Collas, at a private reception this evening now the final components have all been put together.
That includes the ‘Tree of Knowledge and Reading Circle’ which was the final section to be constructed ahead of the official opening. It was funded by the Ana Leaf Foundation and was designed to provide “a new and creative space for children to get excited about reading.”
The structure was designed by project architect and director of CCD Architects, Oliver Westgarth and his team and was built and constructed by inmates of Les Nicolles Prison while the bench has been assembled by R&D de Jersey.
