While people woke up to slightly improved weather this morning, the wind is still forecast to reach up to force eight at times.
Guernsey Police have reported a number of trees are down, including at Talbot Valley, on Rue Du Tetre in the Castel and La Route De Sausmarez in St Martin. Tree surgeons are working at various locations, to clear the roads as fast as possible.
The west coast was mostly closed during the high tide, but is now open, except for the stretch of coast between Perelle garage and Fort Richmond. There is a large amount of debris scattered across the road in various other areas too.
Guernsey Police said staff would be updating a post (above) on Facebook throughout the day to keep everyone up to date on what is happening, and where drivers should try and avoid.
Travellers are also going to be running in to more trouble today. While many flights yesterday didn’t run, Aurigny has reported tohat wind speeds had slowed down enough that the aircraft should be able to operate.

“We are, once again, expecting high winds today,” it said on its Facebook page, “the winds are forecast to be lower than yesterday’s and below the limits for most aircraft and so we will attempt to fly the schedule.
“Winds are forecast to increase somewhat throughout the day and there may be times where these are out of limits. However, we expect these periods to come and go and so we will attempt to get in and out of island airports between the lulls. Diversions are therefore possible.”
Blue Islands has said it is hoping the weather today will allow more flights than yesterday, and it has scheduled additional Guernsey to Southampton and Guernsey to Jersey trips to accommodate passengers who had their travel plans messed up by the storm.

Guernsey Habours website was showing that all incoming and outgoing ships to and from both Jersey and Portsmouth were cancelled throughout the day. Tomorrow everything is so far scheduled on time, however.
