Anyone needing treatment for decompression illness during that time may have to go elsewhere.

The Hyperbaric chamber is at Guernsey’s hospital, in the Emergency Department and it is available to all divers “intending to dive within Guernsey’s 12-mile limit”.
All dive clubs have been told ahead of schedule about the planned closure this coming week, along with harbour authorities across the Bailiwick and in Jersey, as well as Jersey’s Emergency Department.
With the closure being planned ahead of time, all commercial and leisure divers are asked to be “extremely careful during the time the chamber is closed and only dive if it is absolutely necessary”.
Any diver suspected of suffering from decompression illness on 11 and 12 October will be initially treated within the Emergency Departments in either Guernsey or Jersey and if they need to use a hyperbaric chamber they’ll be transported to a suitable treatment centre elsewhere.
