The team behind the Liberation Day Hampers are already delivering the first of the year to local care homes and age-concern groups today.
21 different homes and groups are expected to receive their hampers over the next week, in the build up to the 81st anniversary of Liberation Day.
The initiatives will see a total of around 1,300 hampers gifted to anyone who served, or was occupied, evacuated, or deported during World War 2.
The hampers contain a variety of tasty treats, including Guernsey Gâche, scones, orange cake, tea, jam, and products from the Guernsey Dairy.
There will also be fruit from the Co-op, and a traditional ration card.
To qualify for an individual hamper, residents must be aged 80 or over and living in private accommodation or with family, which has been sponsored by the St Peter Port Constables.
The separate scheme taking place for those residing in care homes or attending Age Concern groups has been sponsored Rok Group.
