A bike-themed film festival is returning to Guernsey for its fourth year.

The Big Bike Film Night promises “another unforgettable evening of world-class cycling films”, organisers said.

The two-and-a-half-hour event on Tuesday 14 April will showcase short films which celebrate “the adventure, humour, grit and joy of life on two wheels”.

Phil Le Poidevin, from the Guernsey Bicycle Group, said the evening would be “one of the most inspiring events of the year and not to be missed”.

Cinema-goers could expect a “brilliant mix of heartwarming short films”, he said, adding: “We can promise you’ll leave with a smile and feeling ready for adventures.”

This year’s highlights included a “breathtaking mountain bike journey through Norway under the magic of the midnight sun”, a “moving father and son story” and a “nostalgic, underdog tale set on the slopes of Mont Ventoux”.

Other films would capture TransAtlantic Way along Ireland’s Atlantic coastline and a downhill mountain biking world-record attempt.

Each short film “celebrates the fun, adventure and freedom that cycling brings”, organisers said.

The event was also a chance to “connect with fellow bicycle, travel, and adventure enthusiasts”, with proceeds going to the Guernsey Bicycle Group.

Doors open at 18:30 with the screening at 19:00.

Tickets are £16 for adults and £10 for children under 16.
