Katherine Wegerer appeared in yesterday’s episode of The Chase, where she and her team mates beat ‘the Menace’ and won £21,000.

She was asked by presenter Bradley Walsh if she is a ‘Guernsey girl’, to which she said she “probably qualifies” as she has lived here for about 50 years.

She told Mr Walsh about her work as coordinator of the Music Section in the Eisteddfod and said any money she won would be spent creating a ‘gin shack’ in her garden so she can entertain friends.

And she did win some money to do that.

Ms Wegerer was up first in the ITV gameshow, winning £6,000 for her team before choosing to face ‘the Menace’ in the ‘Beat the Chasers’ round.

By the end of the competition Ms Wegerer’s team had won a combined total of £21,000 which would be split between the four of them.
