She’s joined by Odette Duerden, Barry Cash, Joyce Tonkinson, Diane Mitchell and Phillip Smith as the successful candidates for the vacant seats.

Just 280 votes were cast in the parish election, with three spoiled ballots being left blank.

It’s a steep tumble from last year’s election for eight Douzenier seats, which brought in a total of 526 votes.

It’s important to note that the St Peter Port Parish facebook page hasn’t been in use since 11 September of this year, and doesn’t mention the 2024 election.

That is something that Douzenier McCutcheon said she would like to address in her manifesto with a pledge to improve social media and communications between the parish officials and residents.

On a post on the Women In Public Life Facebook page, returning to her role as Junior Constable and Douzenier, Diane Mitchell greeted those joining the parish officials.

Congratulations to those new and returning, commiserations to those who will no longer be part of the team,” she wrote. “Thanks to all those who made the election work seamlessly. Looking forward to working with Ken as my co Constable.”
