But, while ‘the curve’ has started to flatten out while everyone stays at home, the number of positive cases is still rising daily.
According to the latest statistics, 234 people in Guernsey have tested positive for corona virus – but 73 of them have now recovered. That means the virus was not detected on their nose or throat swabs, after two weeks.
Nine patients have died after testing positive for covid-19, with a further three deaths thought to be linked to the virus.
Six of the positive patients currently being treated are at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital but, so far, no one has needed intensive care treatment or a ventilator. The remaining patients are being treated at home.
Infection has been recorded in people of all ages, ranging from 0 to 99 and 62% of cases were female.
