Guernsey’s Marks & Spencer franchise has launched the ‘M&S Guernsey Community Fund’, a grant-based initiative to support local charities, organisations, and projects.
The fund will provide £20,000 each year, with individual grants of up to £1,500. It’s aiming to fund between 12 and 15 projects annually.
It’s open to applications from a broad range of local groups, including charities, environmental projects, welfare organisations, schools, volunteer programmes, and church groups on a range of topics that include environmental causes, health and well-being, and diversity.
“M&S has been part of the Guernsey community for 57 years and the new Community Fund is our way of giving back to the causes that matter most to local people and supporting those who volunteer and contribute towards making this island such a great place to live,” said Greg Yeoman, the Head of M&S Guernsey.
“M&S globally has its Plan A programme and here in Guernsey we have been translating that sentiment into sponsoring and supporting local sport, charities and community events for many years.
“We believe this fund can take that commitment to the next level and we look forward to receiving applications from all aspects of Guernsey life. Our aim is to strengthen community spirit and provide meaningful support where it is needed most.”
