Ms Ozanne joined the MSG just one year after it was formed by a group of 19 doctors in 1992.

Having started as a “Girl Friday”, she has worked in the breast surgery department for more than two decades, most recently as PA to Mr Thomas Fysh.

“I was originally employed as the ‘Girl Friday’ back in 1993,” she explained. “I did everything from reception to filing, answering the phones and even buying the weekly biscuits!

“I then moved to the breast surgery department, where I have been ever since.”

As PA to breast surgeon Mr Fysh, Ms Ozanne works closely with other respected colleagues and also their patients.

“I’ve had the good fortune to look after a number of different consultants, all of whom I have a great deal of respect and affection for,” she said.

“I’ve worked in a job share role for the past 22 years thanks to the innovation of my section head and consultant at the time. I love the hours, variety of work, feeling you are able to help and am lucky to have worked with my current colleague for 15 years.”

Having worked at the MSG for so long – nearly the entirety of the Group’s lifespan – Ms Ozanne has “seen many changes, not least the formation of the fantastic Breast unit,” she said.

“Back in the early days, the computer systems were limited, we worked off a book diary and any communication outside the clinics was by phone.  Hence the messages were kept brief and calls only made if completely necessary!”

Ms Ozanne’s long service and loyalty has been rewarded with a £500 travel voucher and a bouquet of flowers.

MSG Chief Executive Jon Buckland was among those congratulating her on the recent milestone.

“Fiona is our fourth colleague to have given 30 years of service to the MSG. We are incredibly lucky to have such commitment from our team. Fiona is a well-respected colleague who has always put the needs of our patients first, and we hope she continues to work with us for many more years to come.”
