The accreditation scheme has been named ‘Safe, Clean and Legal’ and is currently a voluntary scheme available to all hotels, guesthouses and self-catering units.

A lot of businesses have taken part in the scheme already. “We hope that the introduction of the scheme, which has been approved by Public Health, will be a valuable addition and resource for our industry,” said Deputy Simon Vermeulen, himself a former hotelier.
In his new role as Tourism sector lead for ED, Deputy Vermeulen, said signing up to the scheme will help local businesses to advertise themselves.
“Award of this accreditation will provide visitor accommodation providers with a quality assurance ‘stamp’, which can be used in all promotional materials and marketing communications.”
