The current cohort of Deputies have agreed what the next States will be paid.
The total amount to be shared between the 40 members will be the same as the current pay packet – but there have been some changes to what individual members will receive dependent on what roles they take on.
This includes a pay cut for the next President of Policy and Resources and slightly less pay for each Committee President and the Members of P&R.
All other deputies will receive just under £1,000 more after the election compared to what the incumbents are earning.

It had suggested pay increases for all members compared to the current salaries, with varying amounts paid to individuals depending on positions held. That would have led to an overall increase in the total wage bill of £200,000.
P&R disagreed with that advice and instead suggested an overall cut of 3%.
However, an amendment from Deputies Yvonne Burford and Victoria Oliver won the day – after they suggested slight amendments which kept the overall States pay bill in line with the current amount, while including a salary for a Housing Committee President and Members, which was recently agreed by the States.
By reducing the pay for some States Members, including the Chief Minister and other committee presidents, they kept the total amount spent on pay the same.
It was also agreed that RPIX should be used to determine any annual increases to States Members pay in the future.
