“This operation has seen officers engaging and working with premises’ management and staff to both remind them of their liquor licence requirements, and ensure that those requirements are being followed,” said the spokesperson.

“We have also upped the number of high visibility foot patrols in town, and officers have been gathering evidence surrounding any potential licence breaches. Any breaches of a liquor licence can result in prosecution of the licensee, which may lead to a fine or loss of the liquor licence.”
The licences issued in Guernsey often stipulate a strict designated area in which patrons can consume alcohol and times during which alcohol can be served, among other requirements.
The spokesperson continued: “Fortunately, our community’s licensees are often very helpful and have so far been supportive of us in this operation as we seek to continue working with them to reduce anti-social behaviour and allow the public to enjoy their nights out.”
