A group of knitters from St Andrew’s Parish Church has produced more than 200 handmade angels to be gifted to patients and staff at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital this Christmas.
The initiative has been an annual event since 2018, and the organisers have noted that in previous years, the angels have been very popular with those at the hospital.
An organiser of the project, Judy Barker, stated that the angels are one of a kind: “Each angel is unique, and knitted with love as a gift to reflect the true meaning of Christmas.”
They were blessed by the Dean of Guernsey, and Rector of St Andrew, the Very Reverend Tim Barker, during a Sunday service a couple of weeks ago. They’re currently being delivered to patients at the PEH by Chaplain, the Reverend Linda Le Vasseur.
Revd Le Vasseur said: “Each year the angels bring joy to patients, those who are important to them, and staff. We are so very grateful to Judy and her team.”
